ES Sétif Returns to Winning Ways with 5-1 Victory Over CS Constantine
ES Sétif regained its balance by securing its first win of the season on Saturday, defeating visiting CS Constantine with a crushing 5-1 scoreline in a match held at the 8 May 1945 Stadium during the third round of the professional league.
The match started unfavorably for the home team, as CS Constantine managed to open the scoring just five seconds in, with defender Chekhi breaking into the penalty area and firing the ball into the net following a brilliant pass from his teammate Nassim El Ghoul.
Despite the shocking start, ES Sétif managed to bounce back, equalizing in the 40th minute through Boukrama, ending the first half tied at one goal apiece.
ES Sétif waited until the second half to take control of the match, with striker Ben Chaâ leading the charge by scoring two consecutive goals in the 73rd and 79th minutes, giving his team a comfortable advantage.
CS Constantine's difficulties worsened after their captain Ibrahim Deb was sent off, before ES Sétif scored their fourth goal through Ben Ayad in the 90+4th minute, with Sisa wrapping up the goal fest by netting the fifth in the 90+9th minute.
With this victory, ES Sétif earned its first three points of the season, raising its total to 3 points and moving up to seventh place, following losses in the previous two rounds against NA Hussein Dey and CR Belouizdad.
On the other hand, CS Constantine suffered its first defeat of the season, having started its campaign with a draw against USM Ain Temouchent before securing a win over Olympique de Chlef in the second round.
