USM Alger Secures Important Victory Against Olympique Akbou, Temporarily Moves to the Top

USM Alger achieved its second consecutive victory in the professional league and its first away win of the season on Saturday, returning with a valuable 3-2 win from the Stade des Martyrs in Akbou against the local Olympique, in a match that saw numerous lead changes. This victory brought USM Alger's points tally to seven, temporarily placing them at the top of the standings alongside CR Belouizdad.

USM Alger entered the match looking to confirm their resurgence after the recent win against Chabab El Ebiar, and they succeeded in breaking the deadlock in the 23rd minute when forward Ramdani converted a penalty kick successfully, giving his team the lead.

Olympique Akbou responded quickly, with Boutiche leveling the score in the 34th minute by successfully converting a penalty, ending the first half at 1-1.

In the second half, USM Alger increased the pressure in search of regaining the lead, which they achieved through Darawi, who capitalized on a corner taken by his teammate Ghanawi, heading it into the net for a second goal for USM Alger, restoring their advantage. However, the hosts did not give up, and Haisala equalized in the 60th minute, bringing the match back to a tie as both teams searched for a decisive goal.

As the match approached its conclusion, striker Darman Kamagati made his mark in the 81st minute, scoring the third goal for USM Alger, securing a valuable away win for his team and confirming the ability of USM Alger to return with all three points from a challenging match.

With this victory, USM Alger raised their points total to seven, following a goalless draw against Union Khenshela in the first round and a 2-0 win over Chabab El Ebiar, before adding their second consecutive win against Olympique Akbou.

On the other hand, Olympique Akbou remains at three points after starting the season with a win over Chabab El Ebiar, followed by two consecutive defeats against Mustaqbal de Rouissat and USM Alger, which has seen them drop to ninth place in the standings.
