OM: Kelyann Bezahaf exudes a calmness that reveals a lot!

Thrown directly into the deep end against Troyes, young Marseille defender Kyliann Bezahaf rose to the occasion during a crucial evening for his team. After the match, the young Olympian shared his thoughts on this opportunity, how he handles pressure, and his connection with the club.
Kelyann Bezahaf experienced a memorable evening with Olympique de Marseille. Starting for the first time in Ligue 1 against Troyes on Sunday, the 20-year-old right-back contributed to his team's victory (2-0), fully taking advantage of the trust placed in him by Bruno Genesio. After the match, the young Marseille player spoke in the mixed zone, displaying his determination and calmness in the face of the difficult situation the club is going through.
For Bezahaf, this first start was primarily an opportunity to showcase his talents and prove that he could add value to the first team. The defender emphasized that daily training prepares young players to seize such opportunities.
“The coach sets up elements in training that you can't see, and that's completely normal. Then, there's the pre-match talk. We discover the lineup and think this is the moment to shine,” he shared. Aware of the expectations surrounding OM, he sees these moments as valuable opportunities to meet Marseille's ambitions.
“This is the only moment to prove our abilities, to show that we can help OM, which should normally aim for the top of the table,” added the young player, who hopes to see his club quickly regain positive momentum. For him, the victory at Troyes is a first step in that direction.
“I’m a kid from Marseille”
Asked about the pressure of this first start, Bezahaf displayed great serenity. Raised within the Olympique training setup, he feels comfortable in this environment and is not disturbed by expectations.
“I know this environment. I’m a kid from Marseille, I’m just a kid. So, for me, I handle the pressure quite well,” he assured.
The young defender also highlighted the support of the fans, who have stood by their team despite inconsistent results. “It’s nice to see the supporters always with us,” he stated, adding to his enjoyment of playing: “This is what I love, it’s football, it’s my passion. Honestly, no pressure there.”
A promising first start for Bezahaf, who now hopes to continue on this path and seize the next opportunities that come his way in the Marseille jersey.
