The performances over the weekend received positive coverage in the French press. Two Algerian players were honored following this round of Ligue 1, confirming their excellent impressions.
Two Algerians recognized in Ligue 1. Samir Hicham Boudaoui and Samir Chergui were selected in the Team of the Week for the 9th matchday by the newspaper L’Équipe. The Nice midfielder received a rating of 8/10, while the Paris FC defender was rated 7/10. This recognition pays tribute to their performances over the weekend.
Starting against Rennes, Boudaoui had an outstanding match in midfield during OGC Nice's comprehensive victory (5-2) on Friday at the Allianz Riviera. The Algerian international participated in the entirety of this high-scoring match, after which the Gym was also named Team of the Day by the newspaper.
This evening was also favorable for Mohamed Amoura, who scored Nice's fourth goal in the 52nd minute. Despite his contribution to the offensive display of the Aiglons, the Algerian forward did not make the eleven chosen by L’Équipe, unlike his compatriot Boudaoui.
For his part, Chergui needed only one half to impress. Starting against Monaco and substituted at halftime, the defender contributed to Paris FC's victory (3-1) on Sunday at Jean-Bouin. His forty-five minutes earned him a spot among the best players of the day.
