FUS Rabat Draws with Ivorian ASEC Mimosas
The match between FUS Rabat and their Ivorian guests ASEC Mimosas ended in a 1-1 draw, in a fixture held on Saturday at the Stade Chérifien in Meknes, as part of the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
The Rabat team dominated the first half, being the more active side and creating several attacking opportunities, while the Ivorian team relied on counterattacks that put pressure on FUS Rabat's defense.
FUS Rabat converted their dominance into a goal in the 31st minute, with Osama Nour Eddine finding the net, giving his team the lead and ending the first half with the home side ahead by one goal.
As the second half began, ASEC Mimosas emerged from their defensive retreat, attempting to apply pressure to equalize, and they succeeded through player Bamba, bringing the match back to square one.
In the final minutes, both teams sought to score a second goal to gain the advantage, but their exchanged attempts did not result in any change in the score, concluding the match with a positive draw of one goal each.
The return match will take place on Sunday, October 25, at the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in the Ivorian capital, Abidjan, where FUS Rabat aims to achieve a positive result and secure a spot in the next round.
