Raja Club Athletic loses to El Kanemi.

Raja SC squandered an important away victory, settling for a 2-2 draw against their Nigerian hosts El Kanemi Warriors today, Sunday, in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Nigerian team opened the scoring early in the sixth minute, before Raja equalized in the 23rd minute through their Jordanian player Mohammad Faisal Abu Zreik, known as "Sharaara," ending the first half with a goal for each team.

In the second half, the Green team managed to take the lead when their Nigerian striker Matthias Oyowusi scored the second goal in the 61st minute, but the hosts equalized in the 83rd minute, denying Raja the chance to return from Nigeria with a win.

The match saw the presence of several Raja SC fans who accompanied the team to Nigeria and supported them from the stands, displaying encouraging banners and "tifos" at the start of the match.

Raja SC is expected to host their Nigerian counterparts next week at the Mohammed V Sports Complex in Casablanca for the return leg, which will determine who advances to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
