According to some sources, Haissem Hassan is likely to miss Egypt's upcoming friendly match against South Africa and is expected to return to Lennoxtown earlier than planned.
The new Celtic recruit was absent from the national team during the friendly matches in the long international break.
Despite earlier statements regarding an injury sustained in September, Hassan participated in the matches against Angola and South Sudan.
However, reports indicate that he will ultimately be excluded from the squad for the friendly against South Africa, joining several key players from the national team who are also expected to miss this match.
According to Ahram, Hassan will be rested to recover, just like Mohamed Salah and Nice defender Mohamed Abdelmonem.
They report that the former Real Oviedo star, who cost the Celts £6.5 million during the last transfer window, "will not participate", allowing him to return to Glasgow.
Celtic's next match will be against Motherwell next weekend, and Martin O’Neill's future remains to be clarified.
Hassan has played nine times under his management this season, with only one assist to his name. The forward has yet to truly shine on the pitch, but he will be determined to stand out after the break.
