Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah has etched his name into the history of the Saudi Professional League after contributing to his team Al Taawoun's 1-1 draw against Al Diriyah on Saturday, in the ninth round of the Roshn League.

After a goalless first half, Al Diriyah opened the scoring in the 50th minute through Clayton Diany, before the Moroccan player equalized for Al Taawoun in the 65th minute.

Hamdallah's goal was significant, as it allowed him to break the record for the most goal contributions in the history of the Saudi Professional League, raising his tally to 184 contributions, which include 159 goals and 25 assists, surpassing Syrian striker Omar Al Somah, who has 183 contributions, comprising 161 goals and 22 assists.

The Moroccan striker also bolstered his chances of becoming the league's all-time top scorer, needing just three more goals to surpass Al Somah's record of 161 goals, while Hamdallah currently stands at 159 goals.

The final minutes of the match were tense, as Darwin Nunez missed a penalty for Al Diriyah in the 78th minute, hitting the post, before Algerian Aidel Boulebina scored in the 94th minute, only for the referee to disallow it for offside, allowing Al Taawoun to maintain the draw.

Al Diriyah now has 12 points in eighth place, still failing to secure a home victory since their promotion, while Al Taawoun halted their losing streak at three matches but remains winless, with four points in seventeenth place.

Hamdallah continues to write his name in bold letters in the history of the Saudi League, as he pursues Al Somah's record and aims to take the lead in the all-time top scorers of this competition.
