Registrations are now open for the 39th Comar Marathon of Tunis-Carthage.

Registrations are now open for the 39th edition of the Marathon Comar de Tunis-Carthage, scheduled for Sunday, December 6, 2026. Established in 1986 by Assurances Comar, this event combining sports, culture, tourism, and ecology has become a highly anticipated annual gathering. It attracts nearly 8,000 athletes each year, whether amateur or professional, Tunisian or international, who come to participate in the four events offered: the Marathon, the Half Marathon, the Fun Run, and the Kids Marathon.
Listed on the Tunisian national calendar under the aegis of the Tunisian Athletics Federation (FTA) and, since 2019, on the international calendar of the World Athletics, the Marathon Comar has become, over the years, the largest outdoor sporting event in Tunisia and a key part of the country's running history. With its rich heritage and leadership position, it is recognized as the oldest and most prestigious marathon organized in North Africa.
Recognized by the Association of International Marathons (AIMS), it is accessible to all categories (professionals and amateurs, men and women, children and seniors) and open to participants from Maghreb countries, Europe, and beyond. It aims to promote regular physical activity through running while enhancing the health and well-being of runners.
Athletes seeking performance participate, and the number of participants continues to grow each year, along with casual runners looking to maintain their fitness, not to mention the many spectators who come to witness this popular celebration in the heart of the capital and its surroundings.
Since its 34th edition in 2019, the Marathon Comar has committed to its environmental pledge for the protection of the planet, particularly through reforestation of forest areas ravaged by fires. The goal is to achieve, in the medium term, a zero carbon footprint event. Reforestation operations are regularly organized in collaboration with the Tounes Clean Up association, planting hundreds of thousands of trees across Tunisia.
Registration for the four scheduled races: Marathon (42.195 KM), Half Marathon (21.1 KM), Fun Run (5 KM), and Kids Race (1.2 KM).
