Hossam Hassan, the head coach of the Egypt national team, plans to start the Pharaohs' training camp on November 8 at the National Teams Center "Project Goal," in preparation for the match against Malawi.
The coaching staff aims to hold the camp at Project Goal for three days, after which the team will move to Cairo Stadium to continue preparations for the match, allowing players to acclimatize to the stadium's atmosphere before the game.
Hossam Hassan is expected to finalize the details of the camp's program in the coming days, including training schedules and the player roster, in coordination with the team's administrative and medical staff.
The choice of Project Goal for the initial gathering aims to provide a suitable environment for technical work during the first days, before moving to Cairo Stadium and focusing on the tactical and technical aspects related to the match against Malawi.
Tarek Suleiman, the general coach of the Egypt national team, will be responsible for leading the Pharaohs' bench in the upcoming match against Malawi in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, following FIFA's decision to suspend head coach Hossam Hassan and his brother, team manager Ibrahim Hassan, for three official matches.
Tarek Suleiman holds a B coaching license and is currently undergoing the necessary courses. Although the Confederation of African Football (CAF) requires the head coach to have an A license, CAF regulations allow a general coach with a B license to temporarily assume technical duties and manage matches in cases of head coach suspension, without violating the governing rules.
The Egypt national team, led by Hossam Hassan, will face Malawi on November 13 and 17 in the third and fourth rounds of the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifiers.
The matches will take place after the implementation of winter time in Egypt, which starts on Friday, October 30.
Schedule for Egypt vs. Malawi Matches in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers
According to winter time, the third-round match between Egypt and Malawi will kick off at 9 PM Cairo time at Cairo Stadium.
The fourth-round match between the two teams, taking place in Malawi, will start at 3 PM Cairo time, as the timing in Egypt aligns with Malawi after the implementation of winter time, eliminating any time difference between the two countries.
