Hungary's Veszprém defeats Australia's Sydney University in the qualifying round for the handball World Championship.
The Hungarian handball team Veszprém, featuring Egyptian players Ahmed Adel, Ali Zein, Yehia El-Draai, and Ahmed Hisham Dodo under Spanish coach Pascual, achieved a significant victory over the University of Sydney from Australia, winning 45-19 in the preliminary round of the World Handball Club Championship currently taking place in New Administrative Capital, Egypt.
Al Ahly Faces Hungarian Champion
With this win, Veszprém is placed in Group B alongside German club Füchse Berlin, Egyptian club Al Ahly, and Kuwaiti club Burgan. Al Ahly will meet the Hungarian champions tomorrow, Friday, while Zamalek will face their American counterpart Los Angeles at 5 PM in the preliminary round as well.
Opening of the World Handball Club Championship
The opening ceremony will take place tomorrow, Friday, September 25, before the match between Al Ahly and the winner of the Veszprém vs. University of Sydney match.

This edition features the largest number of participants in the history of the World Handball Club Championships, with 10 clubs representing different continents.
