Ismaily SC announced that it is continuing its efforts to settle the financial penalties imposed by FIFA as part of its plan to resolve outstanding international cases and lift the transfer ban, allowing the management to strengthen the team's squad with new signings in the upcoming period.
The committee appointed to manage the club confirmed in an official statement that the process of settling the fine related to the case of Tunisian player Firas Chaouat, which amounts to approximately 20,000 Swiss francs, is still ongoing, alongside efforts to resolve the case of Algerian player Mohamed Ben Khemassa, aiming to close the file on international disputes.
Developments in Firas Chaouat's case at Ismaily
The committee managing Ismaily clarified that it continues to take the necessary steps to end the international cases facing the club, in preparation for lifting the transfer ban, noting that the fine related to Firas Chaouat's case is part of the procedures being finalized.
The club had previously announced reaching an agreement to settle the financial dues owed to the Tunisian player, which totaled, according to an earlier statement, 425,692 dollars, including fines and accrued interest.
According to the club, the agreement was reached after intensive negotiations with the player, who did not agree to waive any part of his financial dues, leading to an agreement to pay the amount in installments.
The settlement included an immediate payment of 255,692 dollars, with the club to make two additional payments, each worth 85,000 dollars, the first at the end of October and the second at the end of January.
Ismaily indicated at that time that it had begun the procedures to remove the case from FIFA's website, in preparation for closing the file permanently.
