Jamie Chadwick discusses the challenges of being a representative for women in motorsport.

"If I were fast every day, I'd proudly wave the female banner and say, 'Look at what we can achieve.' And that is the nature of the sport; some individuals are at their best consistently, but I don't perform well every day. That has been a burden I carried.

"Now, it's not as much of an issue because there are many more women in the sport. I feel like it’s less pronounced. However, four or five years ago, we were so few at any competitive level that it seemed like more attention was focused on you as a woman rather than as a racer. If your performance faltered, it, to some extent, reflected on your gender," she added.

After becoming the first female and youngest winner of the British GT Championship in 2015 and competing in the British Formula 3 Championship in 2017 and 2018, Chadwick participated in the all-female W Series.

She won three consecutive W Series titles from 2019 to 2022 before transitioning to the Indy NXT championship, where she made history as the first woman to triumph in a race on a road or street course.

Chadwick has also participated in the European Le Mans Series and Extreme E, and she acts as an ambassador for Williams Racing and serves as an adviser for the Williams Driver Academy in the F1 Academy.
