Master Traoré Daouda Kader, known as TDK, a 5th dan black belt, has officially announced his retirement from competitive sports with the Burkina Faso national team. After nearly two decades at the highest level, the Burkinabé champion is closing a significant chapter in his history.
Transitioning from kata to kumité, TDK competed in the senior category at -75 kg and then at -84 kg. His famous dehachis and "scorpion kick" will remain etched in memories on the tatami mats. He also had the opportunity to work alongside five generations of the national team.
Now, TDK wishes to continue his commitment to karate by focusing on training and supporting young athletes. A new phase begins for the former international, who steps away from competition with a sense of duty fulfilled.
