After her success at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Kaylia Nemour expected a warm welcome at her club Avoine-Beaumont, fitting her achievement, but she admits she was surprised.

“At the club, it went differently than I thought, really. I talked to the family, they seemed a bit disappointed,” she confides.

Kaylia went to her club to “surprise the girls by showing up like that after the games.”

“I thought everyone would stand up”

“I remember there was no one who stood up enthusiastically, I didn’t know how to react,” she recounts. “It may be naive of me, but I thought everyone would stand up and come give me a hug, a kiss, congratulate me,” admits the Olympic champion.

But in the end, none of that happened. “They were stretching, they said hello, so that was nice? Congrats… I admit I didn’t really know where to put myself. And then I went back to the gym as if nothing had happened,” assures Kaylia Nemour.
