A new star from French training could bring a lot to Algerian gymnastics. Her name is Jasmine Rezig, she is 12 years old, and she has just received her first international selection with Algeria.

Following in the footsteps of Olympic champion Kaylia Nemour, Jasmine participated this week in the Algerian individual pre-junior and junior championships.

Jasmine Rezig is the vice-champion of Algeria at 12 years old

This selection comes from her remarkable results during the previous season and her exemplary commitment on a daily basis, the club she trains with in France, Les Batelières d’Herblay, expressed with joy.

Although her participation was primarily aimed at gaining experience, the young Franco-Algerian gymnast stood out impressively. She finished 4th in the all-around competition and earned the title of vice-champion of Algeria on the floor and beam.

“Thanks to her performances today, Jasmine officially secures her ticket to represent the Algerian national team,” the club stated on social media.

Jasmine will represent Algeria at COMEGYM in Greece

With her achievement, Jasmine Rezig has qualified for COMEGYM, an international event that will bring together Mediterranean countries at the end of November in Greece, where she will defend the colors of Algeria.

Jasmine Rezig was born in 2014 in France and is a member of the club Les Batelières d’Herblay. Her record includes a 3rd place in the National category (12 years) at the French individual championship, and she is the vice-champion of France by teams.

Elina Nemour shines at the Algerian championship

Another talented gymnast trained in France made a strong impression at the Algerian championships. She is Elina Nemour, the sister of Olympic champion Kaylia.

Elina won two gold medals on bars and beam, as well as two bronze medals on vault and floor. The future looks promising for Algerian gymnastics with all these high-level athletes benefiting from the path paved by Kaylia Nemour.
