Lakhdar Belloumi expressed his pride while discussing his son Bachir's start to the season in England. In an interview with WinWin, the Algerian football legend talked about the current form of the Hull City winger, who has scored two goals and provided two assists in five Premier League matches.
With four decisive contributions since the start of the season, Bachir Belloumi is experiencing one of his best moments since arriving in England. His brace against Chelsea, followed by an assist against Newcastle, has further solidified the impression he has made in recent weeks. For his father, these performances also address the criticisms he faced when he was still playing in Algeria.
Lakhdar Belloumi believes that his son can now consider broader horizons: “With the level he is showing right now, he deserves to play for a more prestigious team that competes for national and continental titles, like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique de Marseille, or Manchester City.” Nevertheless, he emphasizes that the player remains fully focused on Hull City for the time being.
The former African Ballon d'Or winner also expressed his joy at his son's return to the national team: “His performances with Hull City have opened the doors to the Algeria team for him. I hope he will proudly represent Algeria in the upcoming international competitions.”
Bachir Belloumi has indeed been called up by Brahim Hemdani for the September gathering. This recognition is logical given his current momentum, as the 24-year-old winger arrives in the national team with great confidence.
