Malouli Officially Resigns, Sétif Management Delays Final Decision
The management of ES Sétif received the official resignation request from Farid Malouli this morning, Monday, for his position as the club's sporting director.
Malouli's resignation confirms the rumors that circulated following the significant victory over CS Constantine, where they won 5-1 during the third round of the professional league, regarding his desire to step down.
In a statement, the “Sétif” management indicated that the resignation request will be presented to the board of directors for review and a decision. This comes less than 24 hours after they denied Malouli's resignation.
They confirmed that a final decision will be made after reviewing all relevant information, in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
It is worth noting that Malouli faced severe criticism before the season began due to his inability to secure prominent names during the last summer transfer window.
The criticism intensified against the sporting director at the start of the season, which has not been ideal for the “Black Eagle,” following a surprising home defeat against CR Belouizdad. Another loss in the second round against JS Kabylie, before the team regained its balance with a resounding 5-1 victory against “the politician” in the third round.
