Leverkusen Coach: “We Are Proud to Have Mazza With Us and Hope He Stays for Many Years”
Karlis Martinez, the coach of German club Bayer Leverkusen, spoke about his Algerian international player, Ibrahim Mazza, emphasizing his desire to keep him for as long as possible.
Coach Martinez, after the Ballon d'Or ceremony, stated in comments reported by “win win”: “Mazza is an exceptional player.”
He added: “Everyone here appreciates him because he contributes to the team's success and is humble, and for me, that is the most important trait.”
The Leverkusen coach also noted: “A year ago, he did not expect to win (the Best Young Player award). No one knows how things will develop in life, but he must continue to work at his current pace and maintain his character.”
Coach Karlis Martinez concluded, referring to the possibility of Ibrahim Mazza leaving the team: “I never think about that. We are extremely happy to have him with us, and we hope he stays here for many more years.”
