Lewis Hamilton called before F1 stewards following incident at Azerbaijan GP
Lewis Hamilton has been called before the Formula 1 stewards following accusations of obstructing Liam Lawson during the second practice session at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.
The Ferrari competitor was seen gathering energy through the final sector in Baku on Friday, while Lawson was executing a fast lap in his Racing Bulls car.
This resulted in the Kiwi closing in rapidly and having to take evasive action at the second-to-last corner, leading Lawson to immediately voice his frustrations over the team radio about the situation.
“Oh my god, that is so **** dangerous,” he remarked.
“Yeah, agree,” replied his race engineer Alexandre Iliopoulos.

Consequently, both Lawson and Hamilton were summoned to the stewards at 5:30pm local time in the Euro-Asian nation, and should a penalty be enforced, it is likely to result in a grid drop for the reigning champion.
An FIA announcement stated: “Alleged infringement of Article B4.1.1 of the FIA F1 regulations - Car 44 (Hamilton) allegedly obstructing Car 30 (Lawson) at Turn 19 at 16:33.”
