Ligue 1: With three consecutive victories, JS Kabylie takes the top spot in the standings!

Third consecutive victory and provisional top spot: JS Kabylie continues to rise. The Canaries take the lead in the league with a game in hand after triumphing over JS El Biar.
JS Kabylie had to fight to secure a win against JS El Biar (1-0) on Friday night at Hocine-Aït-Ahmed Stadium, during the opening of the 8th round of Ligue 1. This hard-fought success marks the Canaries' third consecutive win and temporarily places them at the top of the standings with 16 points, having a game in hand.
However, things could have been easier right from the 4th minute. After applying pressure on their opponents at the start of the match, the Kabyles saw Bouamama miss the target during their first clear chance. Against a resilient and well-structured Algiers team, they had to wait until the second half. In the 59th minute, Messaoudi converted a penalty to free his team and secure three essential points.
The decisive moment of the match, however, occurred much earlier, in the 30th minute, when Ivorian midfielder Josaphat Arthur Bada was carried off on a stretcher due to what appeared to be a concerning injury. Without their key player, JSK logically lost rhythm and control, as was feared in the absence of their midfield maestro.
On this challenging evening, special mention goes to Cherifi, a true pillar of the defense, performing at a very high level. Although Belaid has left, the future seems secure with El Abd Nouh and Cherifi. It is also worth noting the return of Mahious, who played for about twenty minutes. The severity of Bada's injury remains to be assessed, as this victory is tinged with a mix of relief and concern for Karim Belhocine.
