Magdy Abdel-Aty is the fourth coach to leave the Egyptian Premier League.

Mohamed Abdel-Aty, the former coach of Abou Qir Fertilizers, has joined the list of coaches who have left their clubs in the Egyptian Premier League during the current 2026-2027 season, after resigning following the team's poor performance and a 2-1 defeat against Petrojet in the sixth round of the competition.

This brings the total number of coaches who have departed their teams since the start of the season to four, following the exits of Emad Nassar from Al-Masry, Mohamed El-Sheikh from Wadi Degla, and Ahmed Khattab from Ghazl El-Mahalla, with Mohamed Abdel-Aty now added to the list.

Emad Nassar First to Depart

Emad Nassar was the first coach to leave his team at the start of the current season, as the board of Al-Masry thanked him after a 1-0 loss to Pyramids FC in the third round of the league, despite the team having won their first two matches. Nassar's departure was due to differences in opinions with the board of the Port Said club, leading Al-Masry to begin a search for stability by hiring Ahmed Sami to take over the team.

Mohamed El-Sheikh Leaves Wadi Degla

The board of Wadi Degla also decided to thank Mohamed El-Sheikh, the team's head coach, after a 2-1 loss to Modern Sport in the league. El-Sheikh led Wadi Degla in four matches during the current season, achieving one win and two draws against one defeat, before his tenure ended and Mustafa Shabita succeeded him.

Ahmed Khattab Third to Leave

At Ghazl El-Mahalla, the board of the football company decided to thank Ahmed Khattab and his coaching staff after the team's poor start in the league, as the Delta leader struggled with results and found themselves in the lower ranks of the standings. Khaled Galal took over the coaching responsibilities following Khattab in an attempt to correct the course and improve the team's results during the current season.

Mohamed Abdel-Aty Leaves Abou Qir Fertilizers

Mohamed Abdel-Aty's resignation from coaching Abou Qir Fertilizers adds another name to the list of departing coaches, following the team's 2-1 loss to Petrojet in the sixth round match.

Abdel-Aty submitted his resignation after the match, amid declining results and the team's difficult position in the standings, before the club's management accepted his resignation and thanked him.

Negative Statistics for Abou Qir Fertilizers in the League

Abou Qir Fertilizers has faced a tough start to the current season, having played six matches in the league, achieving only one win against five defeats, gathering just three points and sitting in eighteenth place in the standings.

The loss to Petrojet increased the pressure on the coaching staff, as the match ended 2-1, prompting Mohamed Abdel-Aty to resign in a move aimed at giving the team a chance to correct its course and regain balance in the upcoming rounds.
