Max Verstappen and Anthony Hamilton's "heartwarming" reunion receives accolades from F1 enthusiasts.

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton's father, Anthony Hamilton, had an unexpected meeting in the paddock during the GT World Challenge Europe weekend in Portimao, which has garnered significant admiration from Formula 1 enthusiasts.
The Dutch driver seized an opportunity in the F1 schedule to participate in the GT World Challenge Europe finale alongside Chris Lulham and Ben Barnicoat, with the trio finishing ninth in the race.
Hamilton Sr., who marked his 35 years in motorsport, experienced his first GT World event during the race weekend.
"It was wonderful to reconnect with my friends Max and Valentino Rossi, discussing all things motorsport, life, and family," Hamilton Sr. shared on Instagram, posting pictures with Verstappen and Rossi, who also took part in the event.
"Celebrating 35 years in motorsport and attending my first-ever GT World event. What a remarkable day! 61 cars on the grid. What a spectacle, what a sound. Immense thanks to Stéphane Ratel and the fantastic SRO team.
"I don't usually take photos, but yesterday was an exception… three true gentlemen."
Fans quickly responded to the moment on social media, labeling it both "unexpected" and "heartwarming".
"Heartwarming. Isn't Anthony a huge motorsport enthusiast overall? Veteran motorsport figures seem to hold Max in high regard. He likely has a friendly demeanor and shares similar interests. Remember Jacky Ickx mentioning that Max recognizes him and approaches him for a chat, which is rare among young drivers," one fan noted on Reddit.
Another user remarked: "I don't know much about Lewis's dad, aside from him being a great guy. There were instances where he acted as a supportive figure for some of the new rookies in need, and Anthony stepped up. By the way, it seems Max has a similar character."
"This guy is so genuine. Everything he did to provide Lewis with the life he aspired to, despite their financial struggles. All those little things you hear about. Congratulating Max in 2021 right away. Comforting Hadjar after his crash. And now this. He genuinely appears to be a good person," another fan expressed, while someone else added: "He was also in Verstappen’s garage. So random and awesome."
