Rangers International hosted MC Alger on Sunday for the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. The Nigerian club announced it has contacted the Confederation of African Football regarding the behavior of Algerian supporters.
Rangers International won 2-0 against Mouloudia Club d'Alger. According to officials from the Nigerian club, incidents occurred in the stands. In a statement released this morning, Rangers mentioned the "destruction of a stadium access door, entry without tickets, damage to seats, and 'other acts' that took place 'during and after' the match. They are requesting intervention from CAF for the return leg. The club demands security guarantees.
"In its request, Rangers has called for urgent action from CAF, including the implementation of appropriate measures for the return leg scheduled for Friday, October 23, in Algiers," the statement said.
