MC Alger: Ben Yahia pleased, but still holds disappointment

After a successful start to the season in the league, CR Belouizdad confirmed their good form by defeating MB Rouissat 2-0 on Friday. This victory comes just days after the Algerian club secured their qualification for the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. During the press conference, Khaled Ben Yahia congratulated his players for their efforts in a particular context.
The Tunisian coach first highlighted the efforts made by his team to continue their momentum after a major continental fixture. “I am grateful to the players for the work they have done; they made a huge effort. Especially after the great victory in the Champions League,” said the coach of CR Belouizdad.
Ben Yahia then admitted that the match against MB Rouissat was not easy to manage. Returning to the league after a high-profile African match often represents a real challenge for his group. “Every time we come back to the league after big matches in Africa, the next match becomes a real challenge for us,” he explained.
The MCA coach also emphasized the quality of the opponent. “We faced a good, competitive team that always causes us problems,” he added, highlighting the resilience of MB Rouissat despite their defeat.
Although Ben Yahia expressed satisfaction with the overall performance of his players, he did not hide his frustration regarding the lack of efficiency in attack. “The players put in a good performance, and we could have made things easier in this match,” he lamented.
The coach of CR Belouizdad specifically mentioned the numerous chances created by his team during the match. “We had great opportunities to score, and unfortunately, we missed them,” he continued.
Despite this lack of realism, Ben Yahia mainly focuses on the collective performance and the three points gained. “But overall, the team played an excellent match,” concluded the Tunisian technician, pleased to see his team maintain their momentum after their success on the continental stage.
