Zamalek coach Moataz Jamal stated that his team's performance was below expectations in the first half of today's Premier League clash, which ended in a 2-0 victory for Al Ahly, with goals from Mohamed Hani and Mounsef Beqar.
He added during the press conference: "We were unlucky in the first half as we conceded a goal that deflected off one of our players and changed direction. Despite our attempts to equalize in the first half, we were unsuccessful. We were the better side in the second half, but we couldn't capitalize on the chances to score and conceded a second goal. We will close this chapter and start focusing on an important match against Rwandan army in the CAF Champions League."
Moataz Jamal changes Zamalek's playing style out of necessity
Jamal continued: "We had to change our playing style due to absences and injuries, in addition to the health condition of Aadi Dabbagh after his return, along with Adam Kaid's injury during warm-ups before the match. In my opinion, Zamalek deserved two penalties in today's match against Al Ahly, and all the players gave their best effort in the game. We need to forget this match and focus on the next encounter in the CAF Champions League. We are used to difficult circumstances and are looking to achieve a positive result in the first leg against the Rwandan army."
