Morocco Surpasses Brazil in World Ranking
The Moroccan national football team has regained the fifth position in the FIFA World Ranking, increasing its points to 1803.99. This improvement comes after Brazil drew with Australia 1-1 in a friendly match, causing the "Seleção" to drop to sixth place.
This advancement for the "Atlas Lions" marks their best ranking in the history of Moroccan football and ties them with the highest position achieved by an African team in the world ranking, according to FIFA's update on Friday, September 25, 2026.
The Moroccan team reached the fifth position globally on June 20, following their 1-0 victory over Scotland during the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Spain continues to lead the ranking after winning the World Cup, followed by Argentina, France, and England, while Morocco has climbed to fifth place at the expense of Brazil.
