World number one squash player, Mostafa Asal, announced significant changes to his coaching team, confirming during the Egyptian Open held last week that he is no longer working with former world number one, James Willstrop.
Mostafa Asal has chosen Peter Marshall, a former world number two, to be his new coach as he aims to strengthen his dominance in squash tournaments and build on his successes in recent seasons.
Marshall, who has a rich career in professional sports, brings considerable experience to the new partnership, while Asal seeks to maintain his position as the top player this season. This change marks a new beginning in his career, as he will work hard to face challenges from Diego Elias of Peru and Paul Coll of New Zealand to retain their lead in the global squash player rankings.
Mostafa Asal Tops Squash Rankings
The Professional Squash Association released the new world rankings for October, with emerging Egyptian champion, Amina Arafa, of Al Jazeera Club, continuing to lead the women's standings, while Egyptian champion Mostafa Asal maintained his top position in the men's rankings.
