An almost decisive assist. Mohamed Azzi made his mark in the Moscow derby with a cross that surprised the Lokomotiv defense.

Mohamed Azzi took advantage of his time on the pitch. Substituted in after the kickoff, the Algerian defender contributed to CSKA Moscow's victory over Lokomotiv Moscow (3-1) in the fifth round of the Russian Cup group stage.

Coming on at the start of the second half, Azzi shone in the 66th minute. Receiving the ball on the right flank, he delivered a superb low cross intended for Luciano Gondou. In an attempt to intercept the ball before the striker, Georgi Djikiya unfortunately deflected it into his own net, giving the third goal to the Muscovites.

An "almost assist" for the Algerian, whose cross changed the course of the play. Although this own goal does not increase his assist tally, his offensive contribution allowed CSKA to pull ahead and secure the derby victory.

Since the start of the season, Mohamed Azzi has now made 14 appearances across all competitions, between Dynamo Makhachkala and CSKA, with one goal and no assists. His only goal came against Rostov in the Cup on October 14.
