Russia: Mohamed Azzi impresses again against Spartak (video)

Oct 26, 2026

Algerian right-back Mohamed Azzi of CSKA Moscow continues to show remarkable consistency and performance.

Following a defeat against Dynamo last week, the Red and Blues triumphed in the other derby against Spartak yesterday with a score of 2-0, allowing them to position themselves on the podium just behind Zenit and Dynamo.

Aligned in a five-man defense, Azzi fulfilled his defensive duties well, winning the majority of duels both on the ground and in the air, in a match where the opponent constantly pressed.

In attack, he was present as usual with numerous dribbles and a great chance in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper early in the match. Only his passing game was slightly below par, as was that of his left-back partner.

Since joining CSKA in early September, he has made seven starts and his performances are becoming increasingly recognized, earning him a pre-call-up for November with the Algeria national team.
