Sami Ouaissa (22 years old) will have to wait some time before making his debut with PSV's first team. The Dutch forward of Moroccan descent was in rehabilitation after an ankle injury, but it seems he has suffered a new injury. PSV announced on Thursday morning that they will not be able to count on Ouaissa in the coming months.
Last Monday, Ouaissa made his first appearance with Jong PSV in a match against FC Dordrecht, playing one half. Later in the week, he trained with the first team and appeared ready to make a quick return with Peter Bosz's squad. Evidence of his imminent return: the former NEC player was not included for the International Premier Cup match between Jong PSV and Ipswich Town's reserve team on Tuesday, although he was supposed to travel to England.
After an examination on Wednesday, it turns out that Ouaissa is suffering from a new knee injury. The duration of his absence remains unclear, but PSV mentions several months. An ankle injury had already prevented him from playing a single minute for his new club this season. Like Sam Lammers, he is a forward recruited by PSV this summer who, by the end of October, had not yet stepped onto the pitch. Lammers, for his part, is training again with the team.
Ouaissa joined the club from NEC at the end of the summer transfer window for a fee of around nine million euros. He played 76 matches with NEC, who had acquired him from Roda JC during the winter of 2024.
