Sami Qumsan, the coach of Arab Contractors, confirmed that his team aimed to limit Al Ahly's threat during the match held in the second round of the Cairo Capital Cup, noting that physical fatigue influenced his choices and game strategy.
Sami Qumsan: I warned the players of Al Mokawloon about Al Ahly's danger in the final moments.
Sami Qumsan's Statements
Qumsan said in statements to ON Sports after the match: "We tried to control Al Ahly's key players, and we played with greater focus in defense, increasing the number of players in midfield. But this is football, and I warned the players about Al Ahly's danger in the final minutes. We still have three matches ahead."
The coach added: "We relied on counter-attacks against Al Ahly, but Idrissa Tiam's condition was not in the team's favor due to physical exertion, and we sought to protect the players after they complained of fatigue and muscle injuries."
Qumsan continued: "In the match against Zamalek, we delivered a good offensive and defensive performance, but we couldn't secure the win, while in the match against Al Ahly, we approached it cautiously due to physical fatigue."
