FAF Confirms Scheduled Match Between "Al-Moudjahid" and "Hamraoua"
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF) has announced that the "classic" clash in the opening round of the current season between CR Belouizdad and visiting USM Bel-Abbès will go ahead as scheduled.
The match between the two teams has been postponed to Tuesday, September 22, along with the game between JS Saoura and US Biskra, after the opening round took place on the 3rd, 4th, and 5th of the same month.
This postponement is due to the commitments of "Al-Moudjahid" and "Saoura" in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
Observers had anticipated that the match between CR Belouizdad and USM Bel-Abbès would be postponed, given that the defending champion will be missing 4 players due to the international break.
These players include goalkeeper Ramadan Abdellatif, who has been called up to the national team, Moussa Ndowomoi with Burundi, Ali Azaiza with Jordan, and Salio Bangoura with Guinea.
However, the FAF confirmed in an update via its Facebook account on Saturday that the names of the referees for the postponed matches have been announced, ensuring that the clash between "Al-Moudjahid" and "Hamraoua" will take place as scheduled.
It is worth noting that the current regulations allow any club to request a postponement of a match if it has 3 or more international players during the international break.
