The Competitions Committee of the Egyptian Football Association has issued a decisive ruling regarding the women's team of Modern Sport Club, based on the referee's report from the match between Al Ahly and Modern Sport, which was scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026. The Modern Sport team did not show up and waited until the legal time for the match.
This incident marks the second time the team has missed a fixture in the Women's Premier League for the 2026/2027 season, having previously failed to appear for their match against National Bank on September 25, 2025.
Penalties and Disciplinary Decisions
As a result of this withdrawal and repeated absence, the Competitions Committee has taken a series of severe executive decisions against the club, including the permanent exclusion of Modern Sport from the competition and imposing a financial penalty equivalent to twenty times the entry fee for the tournament.
The decisions also included the application of the relevant player regulations, as well as a one-season ban on the club from participating in competitions, with an obligation to start competing in the lowest tier of competitions organized by the association for the women's first team.
