The women in green now face a new challenge in the third round, scheduled to take place between February 23 and March 6, 2027, featuring 16 teams competing in a home-and-away format, with eight teams advancing to the fourth round.
The qualifiers will continue through two additional rounds, where eight teams will compete in the fourth round for a chance to reach the fifth and final round, which will bring together four teams to determine Africa's representatives at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with only two spots allocated for this Olympic event.
