On Tuesday, the draw for the North African Football Union U17 Championship, qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, was held.
The tournament, known as "LUNAF," is set to take place in Tunisia from September 24 to October 6, 2026.
The Algerian U17 team was scheduled to play their opening match against Libya on September 26, followed by a game against Tunisia on September 29, and finally facing Egypt on October 2 in the last round, before the draw was redone to include Morocco in the qualifiers.
Thus, the national team will play 4 qualifying matches and will be exempt from the fourth round according to the new schedule.
The "Greens" will kick off the "LUNAF" tournament with a match against Morocco on Thursday, September 24, at the "Ben Jannet" Stadium in Monastir.
They will then meet the Libyan team in the third round at the same stadium on Sunday, September 27.
The third round against Egypt will take place on Wednesday, September 30, at the same venue.
After being exempted from the fourth round, the "Greens" will conclude their campaign in the North African Championship qualifying for the "CAN 2027" with a match against Tunisia on Tuesday, October 6, at the "Olympic Stadium" in Sousse.
