Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk played to a stalemate at San Siro during the 3rd matchday of the UEFA Champions League. At the end of the first half, neither team managed to score.
No goals at San Siro. However, chances were not lacking. The Nerazzurri, determined to leave the match with a victory, quickly took the initiative. In the 21st minute, Ange-Yoan Bonny tested Ukrainian goalkeeper Dmytro Riznyk with a left-footed shot that required a save. Aside from this early scare, no other action would evoke emotions during the match.
It wasn't until the 40th minute that we witnessed the best chance of the match. From a corner by Yehor Nazaryna, Valeriy Bondar rose above the Milan defense. Like his counterpart, the Inter goalkeeper dove and managed to deflect the ball at the last moment. Inter went into the locker room with a score of 0-0, but with a pressing desire to score a decisive goal.
