PSG is gearing up to face FC Barcelona in the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League. While some experts are calling it a potential final, Parisian midfielder Vitinha prefers to focus on the present.
FC Barcelona and PSG currently occupy the top two spots in the group stage standings. Both teams have won their first two matches and aim to maintain this momentum. What lies ahead is a classic European football encounter. However, Vitinha believes it is crucial to view the match in its entirety. “It’s too early. We are only in October. We know that things change throughout the season. The reality of October is not the same as that of March,” Vitinha stated during the pre-match press conference.
Nevertheless, the Portuguese player acknowledges that the clash against FC Barcelona is an exciting match as it features two prominent European teams. The midfielder thinks his team will draw inspiration from their victory over Manchester City to overcome the Blaugranas.
“It’s always a big match, a duel we look forward to, one of the best we can participate in right now between two of the best teams in Europe, along with Bayern. Like against City, it’s the type of match we want to play. We really enjoy playing these kinds of matches, even if they are not decisive. The group stage is long. We want to show our level and understand that of Barça.”
