Van Dijk under the watch of Trabzonspor.. Will he reunite with Salah?
Reports have linked Liverpool captain and Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk with a potential move to Turkish club Trabzonspor in the summer of 2027. This move could reunite him with former teammate Mohamed Salah, but there are no official confirmations about negotiations between the parties involved.
Contract expires in 2027
Van Dijk renewed his contract with Liverpool in April 2025 for two years, meaning he will remain with the club until the summer of 2027.
As the contract expiration approaches, questions arise about the future of the 35-year-old player. However, the end of the contract does not necessarily mean he will leave, as renewing with Liverpool remains a potential option.
No official statements have been released yet from Liverpool or Trabzonspor confirming the start of negotiations regarding the Dutch defender's transfer.
Possible reunion with Salah
Both Salah and van Dijk played key roles in Liverpool's achievements, contributing to the team's success in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, among other titles.
However, the possibility of them reuniting again depends on determining van Dijk's future and reaching an agreement with the player, while the available information so far only includes reports of potential interest.
According to 'The Hard Tackle', the Turkish club is looking to sign van Dijk on a free transfer if his contract with Liverpool expires without renewal.
The Turkish site 'Süper Haber' also discussed the possibility of the Dutch defender's transfer, citing reports from the English press.
