Former Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry has expressed his belief that England will secure the FIFA World Cup in 2026.
This statement comes in light of the Three Lions' exhilarating 3-2 triumph over Mexico at the Estadio Azteca during the tournament's round of 16.

In a conversation with Lyllo Casino, Barry remarked that the team has effectively navigated significant challenges and is now brimming with confidence to bring the trophy home.
“I have to confess, I anticipated that the conditions being discussed so frequently and advancing further into the tournament would lead to player fatigue, so I was probably expecting fewer goals and less excitement.
“It was fantastic to witness the other side of it, the goals, the incidents, and so many topics for discussion. Overall, I’m just proud to be English when you see the lads battle until the final whistle with 10 men. I’m absolutely thrilled for the boys as they head into the quarter-finals.
“That kind of victory instills belief that England can claim the World Cup. Tactically, their ability to adapt was commendable. Observing closely for the first 10 minutes, Mexico would have anticipated a strong press, but the lads opted for the long ball instead.
