FIFA officials from Egypt and Tunisia will conduct a premier refereeing program in Ghana.

Ghana is set to welcome esteemed FIFA refereeing instructors later this month for the FIFA Member Association (MA) Young Talent Refereeing Course, taking place at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. This six-day event, scheduled from July 23 to 28, will be overseen by seasoned FIFA Technical Instructor Essameldin Abdelfattah Hassan Abdelhamid from Egypt, along with FIFA Physical Instructor Boubakar Hannachi from Tunisia. The course is part of FIFA's worldwide initiative to develop referees, focusing on equipping promising young officials for the pinnacle of the sport. Participants, chosen from the Ghana Football Association's Catch Them Young Refereeing Programme, will engage in specialized training that covers contemporary officiating techniques, including the interpretation of the Laws of the Game, positioning and movement, match management, decision-making, and physical fitness. The program integrates theoretical instruction with hands-on sessions, fitness evaluations, and match analysis, ensuring that emerging referees acquire the necessary knowledge and confidence to officiate at an elite level. In recent years, the GFA has prioritized referee development, collaborating closely with FIFA and CAF to elevate officiating standards and create pathways for Ghanaian referees to secure international appointments. Officials are optimistic that the Young Talent Course will further bolster these initiatives by offering participants direct insight into FIFA's latest refereeing philosophies and best practices, while also positioning them for future opportunities on both continental and global platforms.
