Ex-Kotoko midfielder Kwame Bonsu has signed with Omani powerhouse Al Shabab.

Ghanaian midfield powerhouse Kwame Bonsu has signed with Omani club Al Shabab SC. The former Asante Kotoko and Esperance de Tunis midfielder has inked a contract to join the Gulf side for the 2026/27 season. He makes the transition to Oman following a short stint with Saudi team Al Jandal. "Kwame embarks on a new journey in Al Shabab colors," his new club announced on social media, accompanied by a highlight reel of his career. Prior to his time at Al Jandal, Bonsu had a spell with Al Ain, also in Saudi Arabia. The 32-year-old has dedicated a significant part of his career to the Middle East, featuring for Al Bataeh and Naft Al Basra. The once-capped Ghanaian international is set to travel to Oman to kick off pre-season preparations with the club as they gear up for the forthcoming campaign. Bonsu's extensive career has also included stints at Cleopatra in Egypt and in Sweden with Rosengard, Mjallby, and Gefle.
