France: Hicham Boudaoui makes his return!

Hicham Boudaoui finally makes his return. Excluded from OGC Nice's early matchday squads this season, the Algerian international is part of the squad selected for the trip to Auxerre. This is a crucial step after a particularly tumultuous summer, during which his future remained uncertain for a long time.

The midfielder seemed on the verge of leaving. After negotiating a deal with Al-Ittihad, Boudaoui saw the transfer fall through despite advanced talks. Monaco then tried to bring him in as a wildcard, but that option also ultimately did not materialize. Olivier Pantaloni then put an end to the speculation: “It didn’t happen. Today, he will be with us. Any idea of departure has been abandoned.”

Boudaoui thus joins the Nice squad and reunites with his compatriot Mohamed Amoura, who arrived this summer on loan from Wolfsburg. The two Algerian internationals could now play together in the colors of the Gym.

This return is very timely for Nice, who have had a difficult start to the season. After three matchdays, the Aiglons have yet to secure a victory: two draws against Lorient and Le Mans, along with a heavy 3-0 defeat to Paris FC.
