Displaying remarkable fortitude, the Black Maidens bounced back from an early challenge to triumph in a tense penalty shootout, with the second leg concluding in a 1-1 draw and the aggregate score ending 2-2 across both matches.
After battling to a 1-1 stalemate in the first leg in Dakar, both squads arrived for the return clash fully aware that a win would secure their advancement to the global tournament in Morocco. Senegal started strong, taking an early lead just 10 minutes into the match, which put immediate pressure on Ghana and quieted the home crowd.
Despite the initial setback, the Black Maidens remained composed. Coach Joe Nana Adarkwa's team gradually found their rhythm, gaining more possession and creating chances in their quest for an equalizer.
