Ghanaian striker Morirtz-Broni Kwarteng makes his return to FC Magdeburg.

German-Ghanaian forward Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has returned to Bundesliga 2 club FC Magdeburg. The 28-year-old has rejoined the team after signing a contract in the summer transfer window, following a stint with VfL Bochum. "In football, they often say you meet twice in life. For me, that's definitely the case now. Just the thought of being back home in Magdeburg soon fills me with immense joy. Although my time at FCM was brief, it was undoubtedly the best and most successful phase of my career," the forward remarked. Kwarteng experienced a fruitful period during his time in the lower divisions with Magdeburg, which attracted the attention of then newly promoted Bochum. Unfortunately, injuries and a loan to Fortuna Dusseldorf at Bochum led Kwarteng to seek a new direction. "The memories of our promotion to the third division and our survival in the second Bundesliga are still fresh. Plus, I'll be reuniting with many familiar faces here, with whom I've always kept in touch. So when the chance to return presented itself, I didn't hesitate," he added. "I'm extremely eager to play in front of our fans at the Avnet Arena once more. Everyone involved worked tirelessly in recent weeks to facilitate this transfer. I'm incredibly thankful that it came together. Now I can hardly wait to step back onto the pitch and give my all for FCM alongside the team and our supporters." Kwarteng will don the number 10 shirt at Magdeburg for the 2026/27 season.
