Ghanaians can anticipate greater performances from me in the upcoming season – Felix Afena-Gyan

Ghanaian international Felix Afena-Gyan has committed to enhancing his performances in the forthcoming season after concluding his loan with Turkish club Amedspor. The 23-year-old forward spent the entire 2025/26 season with the Turkish side, playing a pivotal role in their promotion to the Turkish Super Lig. With his loan now over, Afena-Gyan is ready to return to his parent club Cremonese as he looks to build on his commendable season in Turkey. The former AS Roma striker participated in 35 matches across all competitions for Amedspor, netting five goals and providing six assists in the Turkish First League. In an interview with Citi Sports, Afena-Gyan reassured fans that they can anticipate a significantly improved version of him next season. "Ghanaians should expect more from me in the new season because that's the job I have to do," he stated. Afena-Gyan first gained attention during his tenure at Roma, where he made a mark with a decisive brace against Genoa in Serie A under the legendary Portuguese coach José Mourinho. This performance quickly positioned him as one of Ghana's most promising young talents. Despite injuries and tough competition impacting his progress in recent times, the striker remains resolute about revitalizing his career. Following a fruitful period with Amedspor, Afena-Gyan now aims to make a strong impression at Cremonese and continue his upward trajectory, while also bolstering his chances for a regular spot in Ghana's Black Stars squad for upcoming international duties.
