Samuel Brew-Butler advocates for granting Carlos Queiroz a permanent contract with the Black Stars.

Former chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Samuel Brew-Butler, has called on the country's football officials to provide Carlos Queiroz with a meaningful contract extension.

He cautioned that letting go of the experienced coach after his short-term World Cup agreement ends this month would be a disastrous strategic error.

Brew-Butler's statement comes as the Portuguese manager's four-month contract nears its end, leaving his future uncertain following Ghana's stint in North America.

Queiroz, who joined in April with an impressive background including stints with Iran, Portugal, and Manchester United, took over a team that was in complete turmoil with little time to prepare for football's biggest event.

Despite these challenging conditions, the 73-year-old managed to bring noticeable defensive structure and tactical discipline to a team that had previously lacked direction. Brew-Butler, who led Ghanaian football from 1993 to 1997, believes these early signs of progress warrant further support instead of outright dismissal.

"Even though Carlos Queiroz did not have sufficient time to prepare the squad, we still saw signs of advancement," Brew-Butler shared with Asempa FM. "I strongly believe he deserves the chance to carry on with this rebuilding effort."
