Kick Nation's scouting initiative uncovers Ghana's upcoming football talents for prospects in the UK.

Kick Nation Scouting has ramped up its efforts to discover Ghana's next wave of football talent through its collaboration with Brooke House College in the United Kingdom, with the recent talent identification event taking place in Tamale. This initiative, which commenced in October of last year, seeks to offer aspiring young Ghanaian footballers a platform to demonstrate their skills on an international level and possibly secure avenues into European football. During the scouting event, Kick Nation CEO Wunnam Haruna shared that the project has already yielded promising outcomes, with four players successfully placed at Brooke House College since the partnership began. "We launched this project in October last year, and since then, we have managed to send four players to our partners in the UK - Brooke House College. Things have been progressing well. We visited Kumasi in March this year, Cape Coast a month ago, Gomoa, and now we are in Tamale," Haruna stated. He mentioned that the nationwide scouting initiative is aimed at uncovering the nation’s top young talents aged between 16 and 17, with the selected players ultimately forming a squad to represent Kick Nation and Steadfast Academy in an elite youth tournament in England. "We are identifying the most talented footballers aged 16 and 17 from these regions. We plan to assemble a strong team of 17 players plus a goalkeeper to represent Kick Nation and Steadfast Academy in the Brooke House Tournament in the UK, where around 20 to 30 football scouts and directors will be present to spot the next generation of top talents," he elaborated. Haruna further described the type of players the scouting team is looking for, emphasizing that technical skills alone are insufficient. "In terms of age, we are focusing on 16, 17, and those who have just turned 18. We are searching for players who fit the Ghanaian archetype of a footballer - tall, strong, and possessing solid technical skills. Most importantly, they should exhibit good character and attitude," he remarked. The selection process involves inviting around eight to ten football academies within the relevant age groups to participate in a mini tournament, allowing scouts to evaluate the players closely. "We invite about eight to ten academies within the age ranges. They compete in an all-play-all tournament, after which our scouts will conduct the selection," Haruna explained. This latest scouting event is part of Kick Nation's larger objective to create opportunities for gifted young footballers throughout Ghana by linking them with international education and football development programs. Following several successful scouting events held in Kumasi, Cape Coast, Gomoa, and Tamale, the organizers remain hopeful that more talented Ghanaian youth will gain the chance to participate in the Brooke House Tournament and attract the interest of scouts and sporting directors from clubs worldwide.
