Lawrence Ati-Zigi remains committed to St. Gallen amid transfer rumors following his standout performance at the World Cup.

Ghanaian goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has reiterated his dedication to Swiss club St. Gallen, emphasizing that his primary focus is on the team amid rumors suggesting a potential transfer following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Black Stars keeper, whose contract extends until June 2027, expressed eagerness for another season with the Swiss Cup champions, who have secured a spot in the UEFA Europa League. "I still have an active contract with St. Gallen, and my focus is entirely on that. I will be competing in Europe with St. Gallen next season, and I aim to make both myself and the club proud," Ati-Zigi shared with Sporty FM. St. Gallen is set to challenge Portuguese powerhouse Benfica in the second qualifying round of the Europa League after their Swiss Cup victory, with Ati-Zigi playing a pivotal role in their success. The 29-year-old bolstered his reputation during the World Cup hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He started Ghana's first group match against Panama and showcased a strong performance before an injury sidelined him for the subsequent two games. Ati-Zigi made his return in the Round of 32 match against Colombia, stepping in for the injured Benjamin Asare. Although Ghana faced a 1-0 defeat and exited the tournament, the former Sochaux goalkeeper delivered an exceptional performance, making several essential saves to keep the Black Stars competitive. He was widely acknowledged as Ghana's top performer that day. His efforts for both club and country have understandably drawn attention, yet Ati-Zigi has emphasized his unwavering commitment to St. Gallen as he gears up for another season in Switzerland and the challenges of European competition.
