Senaya, one of Ghana's key players in the tournament, had to leave the field in the initial moments of the Round of 32 match after sustaining an injury. His substitute, Alidu Seidu, was unable to make a significant impact due to limited playing time prior to the tournament, allowing Colombia to exploit weaknesses down Ghana's right side in their 1-0 win. Adams noted that Senaya's absence created a gap that hindered Ghana's prospects of advancing in the competition. "I expected us to go further than we did. But our loss against Colombia was unfortunate. Before the match, I had high hopes that we would achieve something great. Unfortunately, we encountered a setback very early on. Our key defender, Senaya, who had emerged as a standout during the tournament, got injured," he remarked to JoyNews. "That created a vulnerability on that side, and you could see that was where the goal originated." The Buem MP also supported the team's cautious strategy against Colombia, contending that sending too many players forward could have left Ghana more vulnerable. "You don't just do that and create a porous defense that could lead to an even more significant defeat," he added.
